- Location:
The "La Cetate" point, approximately 20 kilometres south of the town of Craiova, on the right side of the Jiu River (a distance of 1.3 km), Calopar commune, Dolj County.
- Research type:
Sytematic excavations.
- Research team:
- Corneliu Margarit Tatulea, the Museum of Oltenia, Craiova;
- Vlad Vintila Zirra, "Vasile Pārvan" Archaeology Institute, Bucharest.
- Duration of the research:
- 1981 - 1989;
- 1993 - 1997.
- Type and chronological framing of the discoveries:
- fortified settlement (approx. 1.5 ha) belongingto the second age of the iron age;
- Settlements belonging to the early bronze age (the Cotofeni culture) with relatively varied and rich material, without showing a visible proper stratigraphic sedimentation.
- Complexes with special character
Two rows of fortifications:
The external one was initially made of a burnt-bricks wall. The wall, approximately 3 meters wide, had two faces, each one made of a single row of bricks, transversally disposed on the fortification's beam, and strengthened with a filling mass (emplekton) made of burnt clay. It is possible that the wall-fortification was then turned into an earth and stockade-one. Probable dating: the end of the 4th century - the beginning of the 3rd century BC.
The external one is made of an earth and stockade wave and a ditch, having two phases: the first one, dated probably in the beginning of the 3rd century BC, is immediately successive to tearing down of the external fortification, as it is shown by the brick remains used in this process; the second phase is a remaking of the previous one and is very probably related to the period of time between the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD. The inhabited area shows sedimentation's corresponding to the 4th - the 3rd centuries BC and to the 1st century BC and the 1st century AD, containing a rich material: ceramics that was made by hand or with the potter's wheel, metal instruments and tools, Thracian fibulas, imported Greek ceramics with red figurines, shapes and melting pots, imitations of the ceramics having the decorative work in relief, painted ceramics, amphora fragments, Roman republican and imperial coins, etc.
- Present-day location of the material:

- Location:
"Cucuioava, Dealul Viilor" point, approximately 1.5 km north of the "La Cetate", on the right side of the Jiu river, Calopar commune, Dolj county.
- Research type:
Field research.
- Type and chronological framing of the discoveries:
Fortified settlement (approx. 1.8 ha) belonging to the Get age, probably similar and at least partially contemporary with the one from the "La Cetate " point.
- Pieces with special character:
Get ceramics, made both by hand and with the potter's wheel; fragments of brick and burnt clay, similar (?) to those from the "La Cetate" point.
